Now Hiring: Banquet Captain
Location: Embassy Suites by Hilton Jonesboro Red Wolf Convention Center
Essential Responsibilities:
- Requisition additional help based on the banquet schedule.
- Direct table setups, decorations, and serving order.
- Ensure servers are prepared and service is timely, quiet, and courteous.
- Supervise and train wait staff and setup team.
- Actively participate in room setup and service.
- Manage banquet check control and inventory equipment.
- Comply with security, safety, emergency, and energy procedures.
- Meet and greet hotel guests, ensuring their needs are met.
- Operate the banquet department in the manager’s absence.
- Follow company policies and embrace O’Reach, Green Team, Guest Service, and other company cultures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of restaurant functions including food planning, sanitation, security, and personnel management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well with a variety of personality types.
Hours:
- Scheduling may vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma/GED.
- 2 years of supervisory leadership experience.
- 1-year hospitality or banquet experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks involving walking or standing.
Physical Activity:
- Includes stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive motions.
Environmental Conditions:
- Indoor work with potential exposure to temperature changes.
