We are currently seeking a Job Captain to join our team and play a key role in the execution of design and construction documentation across various project types.
Position Summary
The Job Captain works closely with the Project Lead and internal team members to produce accurate and coordinated design and construction documents. This position requires strong technical proficiency, organizational skills, and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, collaborative design environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Lead in creating Revit models and/or CAD drawings from schematic design through construction documents.
- Prepare presentation materials and 3D renderings as required.
- Contribute to the development of design and construction documents for bidding and permit submissions.
- Participate in field measurements and surveys of existing conditions; accurately translate notes into digital models and backgrounds.
- Organize new project folders and support document scanning, plotting, and printing.
- Perform research for building materials and systems, format specification manuals, and assist with coordination and distribution of bid sets.
- Support Construction Administration tasks, including generating field sketches, managing submittals, and coordinating shop drawings.
- Mentor and oversee interns, assisting in the implementation of office drafting standards and monitoring task progress.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Revit and CAD (Autodesk Architecture 2024 preferred).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- 3D modeling and rendering experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of architectural building systems and detailing.
- Understanding of Building and Zoning Codes.
- Familiarity with structural, MEP systems and how they integrate into architectural designs.
- Ability to create and edit outline specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating under the direction of a Project Lead.
- Must be able to travel to project sites as needed.
Education Requirements
- Professional degree in Architecture required: B.Arch or M.Arch preferred.
- Candidates with a four-year degree in Architecture or a closely related field will also be considered
