Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Forestry Technicians to join our hand treatment crew. This role involves implementing forest management prescriptions through precise tree removal, limbing, and brush clearing in varied terrain and weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute forestry prescriptions for wildfire mitigation and forest health projects
- Safely operate chainsaws and hand tools for tree felling, limbing, and slash management
- Work effectively in a team environment in remote forest settings
- Understand and implement cutting specifications accurately and consistently
- Practice proper safety protocols and wildland fire awareness
Qualifications
- Prior experience in forestry work, wildfire mitigation, or related field with the willingness to learn
- Proficiency with chainsaws and forestry hand tools
- Physical stamina to work full days in challenging terrain and weather conditions
- Basic understanding of forest ecology and tree identification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
