Your Responsibilities:
- Ensure patients feel comfortable and well-informed
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Conduct oral screenings and assess oral health history
- Identify conditions such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis
- Perform dental cleanings and apply preventive treatments (e.g., fluoride)
- Educate patients on proper oral care and hygiene techniques
- Provide post-operative instructions
- Take X-rays and dental impressions
- Assist the dentist with treatment planning, including oral cancer screenings
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Monitor and manage supplies
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar role
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Proficiency in maintaining and preparing dental equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient-focused and detail-oriented approach
- Physical stamina to meet job demands
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene (Master’s degree is a plus)
- Valid license to practice in North Carolina
