Job Description:
Assists in maintenance and preparing of the equipment fleet that is used to maintain both golf courses and grounds.
Education and/or Experience:
- Some high school
- Small equipment maintenance experience, general mechanic aptitude, golf course work experience a plus.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Knowledge of golf course operations preferred
- General knowledge of small equipment troubleshooting.
- Understanding of reel mowers/bedknives
- General familiarity with golf course and landscaping equipment.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Execute preventative maintenance plan dictated by Equipment Manager
- Troubleshoot and repair small equipment issues.
- Adjust and maintain various reel mowing equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot aeration equipment.
- Sharpening and grinding of reels, bedknives, and rotary blades.
- Travel onto the golf course to view/inspect operation of equipment.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including inclement weather.
- Maintain and repair snow removal equipment, plows, blowers, pusher box, etc.
- Welding is sometimes necessary.
- Hydraulic repair.
- Electrical troubleshooting.
- Instruct staff members on proper operation of equipment and post mowing care
Licenses and Special Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and periodic pulling.
- Must be able to continuously sit, stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and perform strenuous work lifting.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, push and pull over the course of a shift.
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Oak Hill's appearance standards.
- Will be required to perform job functions outdoors and be exposed to sun, heat, humidity and other elements.
- Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts.
- Must be 18 years of age.
General Information
Scheduled Shifts: Full time position. Days and hours based on club operations.
