Overview
The Sports Turf Technician plays a critical role in the success of Cotton Bowl Stadium at Fair Park Dallas. Reporting to the Assistant Stadium Operations Manager, this position assists with the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the Cotton Bowl Stadium playing surface including but not limited to (mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, top-dressing, over-seeding and painting).
This role will pays an hourly wage of $19.50 to $20.00.

This position will remain open until April 11, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Assistant Stadium Manager in developing yearly plan for maintenance, fertility and budget
- Irrigation management and repair
- Assist in painting for various sporting events such as football, soccer games and special events
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper operating conditions
- Working knowledge of equipment to including mowers, trimmers, tractors and other similar equipment
- Ability to operate various types of lifts including forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, pallet jack, etc.
- Ability to perform a variety of moderate to heavy physical labor (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods of time
- Willingness to learn turf management skills, including but not limited to performing/reviewing soil reports, insect management, sport specific mowing requirements
- Excellent attendance is a must, with a willingness to work weekends, some evenings, occasional holidays
- Duties may adjust as needs arise
- Must possess valid driver’s license
Qualifications
Must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Minimum of 2-year degree from accredited turf management school
- At least one year of experience in sports turf management
- Experience in leading employees/temporaries
- Must be able to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays as needed
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
