Financial Aid Program Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Financial Aid
Employment Status: 12 months non-exempt
Start Date: On or after January 6, 2025
Qualifications: B.S. minimum; M.S. or higher preferred Business/Financial experience. High degree of proficiency in office procedures, typing, and office equipment. Professional tact, diplomacy, and presentation with administrators, staff, faculty students, parents, and the community.
General Description: The Financial Aid Program Coordinator provides financial advising to students, monitors financial aid awards, and completes federal and state reports.
Essential Functions:
· Always maintains respect for confidential information.
· Assists with the daily operation and maintenance of the Financial Aid Office.
· Counsel students as to (1) types of awards (2) availability of aid (3) how to apply (4) deadlines.
· Assists in the preparation of student financial aid awards (1) collects and reviews needed documents (2) finalize awards.
· Assists the Financial Aid Director with monitoring and reconciling the State Grant System.
· Attends Federal and State workshops, seminars and web-based training to maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations.
· Coordinates tracking of daily ISIR’s that are received and what action needs to be taken.
· Imports and processes all files from the U. S. Department of Education each morning.
· Applies all outside scholarship awards to student accounts.
· Supports and completes other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
· Evaluates aid applications for prospective and returning undergraduate/graduate student populations to identify any inconsistencies, conflicting information, verification, and any other documents needed to finalize a student’s financial aid eligibility.
· Reviews and reconciles the Federal Pell Report monthly.
· Reviews and reconciles the Federal Direct Loan Report monthly.
