The Oakland Plant is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to provide technical support and guidance to the plant's operations. As an EHS manager, you will be responsible for evaluating environmental, health, and safety programs, coordinating activities to support local and corporate objectives, and influencing behavior to ensure compliance with Ajinomoto safety standards.
Main Responsibilities
The Oakland Plant is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to provide technical support and guidance to the plant's operations. As an EHS manager, you will be responsible for evaluating environmental, health, and safety programs, coordinating activities to support local and corporate objectives, and influencing behavior to ensure compliance with Ajinomoto safety standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Evaluate and improve existing safety programs and procedures.
- Review process-operating procedures and provide input for safety and health considerations.
- Participate in new process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.
- Work with FSQA and Human Resources to develop and maintain training records and renewal calendars.
- Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions.
- Develop and maintain equipment-specific lockout/tag out procedures and conduct employee training.
- Assist with administrative programs for written policies, procedures, and records such as SDS, lockout/tag out procedures, and OSHA reporting.
- Support Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) initiatives, supply critical data, coach, and provide supervisor support.
- Review and report injury/illness and near-miss incident investigation reports and follow up as necessary.
- Support incident case management activities as needed or directed.
- Lead post-accident investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and mitigation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as PSM, RMP, SWPPP, etc.
- Support management's efforts to ensure compliance with Safety Program expectations by identifying and informing management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through audits and inspections.
- Monitor safety and health regulations and provide technical support to the plant to ensure federal and state regulation compliance.
- Engage in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to support continuous improvement within and outside your department.
- Track and report monthly Safety Scorecard requirements.
