Responsibilities:
As a Spiders Ultimate Youth Coach, you'll play a pivotal role in leading and implementing our youth programming, including camps, classes, and clinics. Your creativity, energy, and love for working with young people will shine as you:
- Lead a variety of ultimate frisbee related recreational and educational activities for youth, fostering their physical and personal development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants while maintaining a fun and organized environment.
- Collaborate with our dedicated team to create memorable experiences for youth of all ages.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude are a must.
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, live sports environment.
- Passion for working with youth
- Must be available on Monday AND/OR Tuesday Afternoons. Candidates with greater availability may have a higher chance of being selected.
- Must pass a Livescan Background Check.
Physical Demands:
Prepare to be active! As a Spiders Ultimate Youth Coach, you'll need strength, stamina, and mobility to handle various tasks. From lifting equipment weighing up to 35 pounds to participating in recreational activities, you'll stay on your feet, moving with agility. Your visual acuity will be essential for computer work and effective communication both in-person and over the phone.
Environmental Elements:
Step into the vibrant outdoor environment of our programs! While enjoying the energetic atmosphere, be prepared for moderate noise levels. As part of our commitment to safety, you may encounter situations requiring first aid and CPR. Additionally, you'll navigate interactions with colleagues and community members, applying departmental policies and procedures with professionalism and tact.
Additional Information:
- Location: Mobile position throughout the Bay Area, including classes, clinics, camps, and team events.
- Duration: January-May 2025. Variable schedule including Winter/Spring classes, camps, and opportunities to earn more hours as an assistant coach, with addition to Summer 2025 coaching opportunities.
- Job Type: Part-time, with flexible hours ranging from 2-10 hours per week, with additional hours available upon request.
- Salary: Competitive hourly rate of $18.00/hour-$22.00/hour or more depending on experience.
