Founded in May 2017, Oasis supports over 800 clients a year with legal and social services case management. We specialize in asylum, permanent residency, citizenship, and family petition applications. In addition to direct representation, we partner with local community organizations and national coalitions on education and advocacy projects.
Position Summary
Oasis seeks an experienced and self-motivated Human Resources (HR) Manager to lead and manage all human resources functions. This includes recruitment, employee relations, performance management, policy development, compliance, and fostering a positive organizational culture. The HR Manager will collaborate closely with staff and leadership to develop processes and procedures. This position reports to the Executive Director, and can report to either or Berkeley or Fresno location.

Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee timekeeping, process payroll and manage employee benefits
- Develop and implement equitable recruitment, interview, and onboarding
- Review, manage, and maintain job descriptions for all positions
- Facilitate the hiring process for all positions at the organization, including conducting screenings, interviews, and reference checks as needed
- Onboard and offboard new staff, interns, and volunteers
- Develop, communicate, implement, and enforce HR processes and procedures including review of compensation and performance reviews
- Lead Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) efforts
- Plan staff engagement activities, including annual staff retreat
- Support managers in addressing performance issues, implementing improvement plans, and accessing supervisory trainings as needed
- Manage workplace safety, performance management protocols, trainings for employee development, and personnel file management
- Monitor and address trends in employee turnover, satisfaction, and engagement
- Facilitate conversation and engage in resolution for any personnel disputes, grievances, or challenges

What We Are Looking For
- At least 3 years of experience in human resources management
- Deep knowledge of HR best practices, compliance, and employment laws in a nonprofit setting
- Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles,their integration into HR functions, and experience incorporating equity framework into organizational functions
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and empathy
- Experience within the legal, political, social justice sector or related academic institution
- Degree(s) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related field

Salary : $73,100 - $79,500
