This position is for a Full Time Preop/PACU RN.
Job Description.:
1.Utilize specialized nursing knowledge, nursing process and discrimination judgment while giving direct or indirect care.
2. Recognize legal and policy limits of individual practice.
3. Recognize the importance of teamwork.
4. Respect patients' right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
5. Provide a safe, efficient, and supportive patient environment.
6. Assess physical and emotional needs of patients and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
7. Monitor the activities of non-professional nursing personnel.
8. Remain cognizant of health care costs.
9. Maintain accurate records of controlled substances.
10. Attend staff meetings and in-service programs.
11. Actively participate in staff and team meetings.
12. Be knowledgeable of and in compliance with administrative, medical, and nursing policies and procedures.
13. Report and complete event reports for incidents to patient, visitor and employees.
14. Report to management and/or facility coordinator needed repairs or maintenance of equipment or building. In the absence of the supervisor, notify the appropriate repair services and follow up to be certain the problem is resolved.
15. Participate in quarterly inventory count.
16. Be responsible for organization and neatness of work area.
17. Assist with housekeeping tasks.
18. Receive and document physician orders.
19. Be knowledgeable of medical staff privileges.
20. Be knowledgeable and responsive to emergency situations (i.e. cardiac arrest, malignant hyperthermia, drug reaction, fire, etc.).
