Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
On behalf of our valued client, the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BI Platform Administrator to manage and optimize their Looker and Amazon Quicksight platforms. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the seamless operation, security, and scalability of their business intelligence infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. This is a hybrid role!
Responsibilities :
Platform Management :
Implement, manage, and maintain Looker and Quicksight platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Design and deliver complex platform architectures, integrating with various data sources and tools.
- Define and implement SDLC processes and CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins, integrating Looker with Git for code management.
- Establish and enforce platform governance, security, and resiliency policies.
Power BI Administration :
Design and administer Power BI service architecture, including Azure and Power BI administration, Premium Capacity management, and troubleshooting.
Architect and develop data models, ETL packages, and reports in Power BI, applying best practices and Kimball methodology.Integrate Power BI with external tools like Splunk, Collibra, and ServiceNow.Build and support Power BI platform metrics, including user tracking, usage monitoring, and anomaly detection.Configure Power BI tenant settings, manage Premium capacities, and monitor performance.Looker Administration :
Manage Looker setup and administration, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Integrate Looker with various data sources and tools.Develop and maintain Looker data models and reports.Security and Automation :
Implement security measures using Active Directory, Azure AD, and Ping Federate, configuring OAuth and SAML for SSO.
Identify and implement automation solutions using Python, Shell Scripting, and PowerShell, leveraging product APIs to streamline administrative tasks.Troubleshooting and Support :
Work closely with IT, server, and security teams to troubleshoot and resolve platform issues.
Provide user support and solutions, ensuring a positive user experience.Manage Power BI gateways for automated data refresh.Knowledge Sharing and Mentorship :
Train self-service BI users and promote the adoption of the data platform.
Provide leadership and vision for best practices, setting standards for BI development.Mentor other team members and foster knowledge transfer.Requirements
Extensive BI Platform Experience : 10 years of experience managing BI platforms, including Power BI, Looker, and Amazon Quicksight.Strong Technical Skills :Proficiency in Python, Shell Scripting, and PowerShell.
Experience with data modeling, ETL development, and reporting.Knowledge of database tools like Snowflake, Oracle, DB2, and SQL Server.Understanding of network, firewall, and proxy configurations.Security Expertise : Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, Ping Federate, OAuth, and SAML.Automation Mindset : Ability to identify and implement automation solutions to streamline operations.Problem-Solving and Communication : Excellent problem-solving, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.Leadership and Collaboration : Ability to lead complex projects and work effectively in a team environment.Passion for Data : A passion for understanding and integrating business semantics into technology solutions.Bonus Points :
Relevant certifications in Power BI, Looker, or Amazon Quicksight.Experience with Cognos toolset and setting standards for BI development.Benefits
