Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a skilled and motivated Tools Support Engineer to join their Direct Delivery team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting engineering project teams by providing expertise and assistance with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools. You will be responsible for tool rollout, configuration, troubleshooting, user training, and process improvement. Location : Dallas, TX or Tampa, FL (Onsite Interview Required)

Responsibilities : ALM Tools Support :

Provide comprehensive support for ALM tools, including troubleshooting user issues, creating new users and projects, and monitoring tool usage.

Offer Quality Center customization support, assisting with configurations and workflows.
Collaborate with engineering teams to address tool-related challenges and optimize tool utilization.
Develop scripts and automation solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
Support the creation and extraction of charts and dashboards from ALM tools for reporting and analysis.
Assist in monitoring and extracting audit reports from ALM tools for compliance and governance.
Pilot new tools and perform tests with IT before upgrades or new tool rollouts.

Application Maintenance :

Support multiple projects across different time zones, ensuring timely and effective assistance.

Perform administrative tasks for application maintenance, including project migration, patch implementation, and environment validation.

Manage Microfocus QC / ALM / Octane project creation and maintenance.

Monitor and proactively manage centralized shared tools services, including license servers, databases, and application services.

Support the integration of Microfocus and third-party tools with QC / ALM / Octane.

Implementation and Customization :

Implement new ALM functionality and customize project configurations based on project requirements (user roles, entities, alerts, workflows, etc.).

Design and develop workflows, configure template projects, and implement cross-project customization.

Customize dashboards and reporting modules to meet specific project needs.

Risk Management and Coordination :

Identify, analyze, and mitigate project and operational risks related to ALM tools.

Coordinate activities with various technical teams (network, database, architecture) to structure solutions.

Knowledge Sharing and Communication :

Develop and communicate tool usage best practices and training materials.

Utilize SQL queries and macro creation for data analysis and reporting.

Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

Experience : 5 years of experience in a similar role, supporting engineering teams and ALM tools.

Technical Skills :

Strong understanding of ALM tools and processes.

Proficiency in Microfocus QC / ALM / Octane.

Experience with scripting and automation.

Knowledge of SQL and macro creation.

Familiarity with various technical environments (network, database, architecture).

Soft Skills :

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
