JOB TITLE: Cardiopulmonary Rehab Specialist
SHIFT: PRN, Part time as needed
Summary/Objective
Coordinates and conducts Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program following AACVPR practice standards.
Essential Functions
- Following AACVPR practice standards, delivers exceptional inpatient and outpatient care, including patient assessment and care planning, progressive exercise prescription, patient monitoring, and related medical documentation, for pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation patients upon physician referral.
- Develops, coordinates, and ensures policies, procedures, and documentation are compliant with current AACVPR certification practice guidelines and reimbursement practices.
- Oversees non-clinical staff in delivery of Phase 3 maintenance programs and serves as a resource.
- Takes a lead role in emergency response for Rehabilitation Services medical emergencies and provides ongoing in services to Rehabilitation staff.
Clinical experience, highly preferred.
- Graduate of any of the following accredited medical programs:
- Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology,
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science,
- Minimum of an associate degree Physical Therapy,
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree Occupational Therapy,
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Nursing,
- Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
- 4 channel Telemetry monitoring and vital signs competency
- Ability to educate patients and staff in cardiac emergencies, cardiac risk factors, and cardiopulmonary anatomy and disease.
- License
- Current State of Indiana license to practice in respective degree, when applicable.
- Supervises rehabilitation aide or new employees of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation without conducting performance evaluations.
- May supervise clinical cardiopulmonary rehabilitation students including conducting performance evaluations following 1 year of work experience.
