Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines with extreme precision.
- Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to exact specifications.
- Ensure part conformity using micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines when necessary.
- Monitor machine performance, diagnose issues, and make necessary adjustments or repairs to maintain quality.
- Work with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and advanced composites.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and ensure an organized, safe, and efficient workspace.
- Open and close the shop, ensuring all equipment is properly shut down and the workspace is secure.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing principles, and process optimization.
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in both CNC milling and turning (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ability to hold extremely tight tolerances.
- Proficiency with G-code, CAD/CAM software, and CNC programming adjustments.
- Hands-on experience with manual machining is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot machine, tooling, and quality issues independently.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and contribute to a team-driven environment.
- Reliability and accountability to manage shop opening/closing procedures.
