Responsibilities
OSRI Program Support (50%)
- Coordinate logistics for OSRI workshops and events
- Promote events through posters, newsletters, digital screens, etc.
- Set up and clean up event spaces
- Track attendance
- Support transportation to/from off-campus events (some evenings/weekends)
- Help foster an inclusive community through creative initiatives (e.g., newsletters, spotlights, socials)
- Other tasks as needed
- Assist OSRI fellows at all stages of the writing process (brainstorming to editing)
- Provide guidance on academic writing, citation styles, and research methods
- Offer constructive feedback to improve written work
Support initiatives such as
- Prototyping a research opportunity portal
- Updating and maintaining web content
- Organizing internal documentation and digital files
- Contributing to strategic planning
- May also propose and lead projects with OUR team input
Required
- Current Oberlin student or graduating senior (Class of 2025)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with Google Suite (especially Sheets, Sites, and Classroom) and Canva
- Background in research support or writing assistance (or Writing Associate training)
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community building
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Valid driver's license and eligibility to drive college vehicles; willingness to transport students to community events in college shuttles
