Responsibilities
The applicant should be comfortable holding poses for an extended period of time. Models work with specific studio art classes, posing as a subject for drawings/paintings. Faculty and staff supervise each model session; students are prohibited from using any photographic or video devices during model sessions. Because drawing courses focus on the human form and anatomy, it is recommended that clothing worm during sessions not be overly bulky or concealing – we recommend athletic or dance apparel that allows for a range of movement and is a light, neutral color.
Models will be scheduled in advance and expected to arrive promptly for scheduled sessions. Models are also responsible for communicating with the hiring manager in the event of illness or an unforeseen scheduling conflict.
Models will be required on an as-needed basis, typically between 3 to 6 hours per week. Depending on the current courses and curricula, there may be periods where more/fewer hours are available.
In addition to modeling, the employee will be expected to lead the evening figure drawing sessions. Models should understand that their likeness, in the form of drawings, will be the property of the artist, and as such their likeness may be reproduced or sold.
