Obsidian Manufacturing Industries, Inc. is searching for a driven sales representative to join their team as a driving factor in growing the company. Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for working with people to find solutions. This position is in line with a inside sales position with little work travel necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work within Obsidian Manufacturing Industries’ values. Teamwork, learning, accountability, hard work, and integrity
  • Continual self-growth in company history, products, and services and be eager to learn about manufacturing
  • Contact existing and potential customers via phone, email, LinkedIn, and more with intentions of creating a long lasting, meaningful business relationship and increase overall sales
  • Present and sell products / services to existing and potential clients with emphasis on OEM spare part support and service
  • Expand spare parts sales within existing and future customer programs and initiatives, including understanding and presenting preventative maintenance for OEM products to customers
  • Provide top-tier customer service to our clients and leave a positive, lasting impression on customers
  • Assist in maintaining updated customer information and data in current CRM and database systems
  • Treat customer needs as your own to maximize short- and long-term customer satisfaction
  • Turn one-time customers in repeat business
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services, if recognized
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Continuously improve through feedback

Qualifications

  • 3 years of sales experience
  • Sales experience in manufacturing is a plus
  • High school degree, associate or bachelor’s degree in related field a plus
  • Excellent selling skills
  • Excellent ability to work within spreadsheets, CRM software, and QuickBooks
  • Professional phone and written communication skills
  • Social selling skills on LinkedIn a plus
  • Prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills
  • Active listening and ability to address customer’s needs
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures
  • Solid interpersonal skills and relationship management skills with an openness to feedback
  • Able to work comfortably in a fast- paced environment
  • We offer a competitive hourly wage, paid holidays, paid vacation, medical plan with dental, vision, life insurance, and a retirement plan. This is a full-time, in-house position with hours from 7 : 30am-4 : 30pm Monday through Friday. Our address is 5015 28th Avenue, Rockford, IL.
