Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Intelligence Analyst II. The Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) is the security and law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of State (the Department). DS is a world leader in international investigations, threat analysis, cyber security, counterterrorism, security technology, and protection of people, property, and information. Its primary mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for the conduct of U.S. foreign policy. The Office of Security Technology (ST) supports the DS mission through the application and use of appropriate technical security countermeasures.
The Countermeasures Program (CMP) and Security Technology Operations (STO) divisions are operational components within ST. CMP is primarily responsible for worldwide technical countermeasures policy for the Department. Countermeasures policies enforce the protection of sensitive and classified information. CMP also manages the overseas technical surveillance countermeasures (TSCM) program.
Specific Responsibilities
- Conducts all-source analysis of threat environment, using both classified and open source reporting streams, pertaining to geographic region(s) of coverage, with a focus on technical security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conducts risk analysis pertaining to overseas diplomatic facilities and works with subject matter experts to develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinates information collection efforts with overseas security personnel to enhance the quality of threat reporting.
- Compiles threat information into periodic reports used for input at overseas missions and domestic planning.
- Provides both written and oral briefings for executive-level and other State Department personnel. Participates in Department and interagency committees, conferences, and working groups; and collaborates with analysts across the intelligence community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/ BS) required.
- Federal employees with one (1 ) year of experience assigned to the GS 0132 series, AND one (1 ) year of experience as an Intelligence Analyst in the Intelligence or Law Enforcement Communities.
- OR three (3) years’ experience working as a Security Engineering Officer, Regional Security Officer.
- OR one (1 ) year of experience in one or more of the Military Occupational Specialties (MOS)/Navy Enlisted Codes (NEC),

- USN: CTI, CTR, IS
- Knowledge and understanding of intelligence community standards, directives, and reporting streams.
- Knowledge of State Department standards and directives, especially in relation to technical security.
- Substantive knowledge and understanding of regulations governing the use of classified materials.
- Ability to interact with groups or individuals outside own organization and/or agency.
- Working knowledge of technical security countermeasures systems and regulations regarding technical, physical, and procedural security.
- Possess excellent writing skills.
- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Experience with Expert Choice and Google Earth is a plus.
- Must be highly adaptable and demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work as a member of a team.
