Job Description
At Ocala Freightliner, a Florida Truck Group company, our skilled team of mechanics is the driving force that keeps our customers on the road and operating in top condition. We are expanding our operations to holistically serve our customers wherever they need assistance. In that expansion, we are looking for strong diesel mechanics.

SUMMARY

Repairs and diagnoses trucks and other vehicles in the shop, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reads job order, observes and listens to truck in operation, considers customers'

complaints to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.

Diagnosis various symptoms by looking, listening, feeling, and by plugging in computer

module to down load data concerning truck's operating history

May install new ignition systems, aligns front wheels, air conditioning, transmission and

may perform axle repair or overhauls systems, changes or recharges batteries, and other

parts. May overhaul or otherwise rebuild diesel engines

Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes

adjustments. Performs DOT examinations to ensure truck is road ready

Rebuilds engines, transmissions, rears, and other mechanical parts

Repairs trucks and other vehicles, by changing parts, topping fluid levels, and other

functions in order to provide customers with fully functioning vehicles

Removes faulty units from vehicles, disassembles and replaces worn and broken parts

Assists less skilled technicians with troubleshooting

Records activities; secures and accounts for parts; and presents invoices

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

Less than a high school education; or up to one month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

ASE certification.
