What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at Occidental Management?
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards by conducting inspections, tests, and evaluations, identifying defects, and recommending improvements to processes and systems.
Essential Duties
Perform routine inspections and quality tests on company and vendor products.
Complete and document pre-assembly audits.
Perform first article inspections to ensure compliance with engineering design and quality control specifications.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve workflow and production issues.
Conduct non-compliance investigations and create audit reports.
Facilitate improvement and corrective action plans.
Assist with implementation and documentation of quality assurance policies and procedures.
Assist with training material creation, process flow documentation, and operating manuals.
Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in wire harness technology, and relevant regulations.
Observe required safety, quality, and service standards according to company policy.

Education And Experience
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment performing related quality assurance functions.
Certificate, AAS, or relevant coursework in Manufacturing , Fabrication, or similar programs.
Microsoft Office/365 Suite proficiency necessary for general internal and external communication, developing internal documents, and documenting work-related processes or procedures.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Basic knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL-STD-810, and UL standards.
Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and processes.
Excellent management skills which are necessary to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Solid communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and deductive reasoning skills.
Basic mathematical skills needed to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions.
Willingness to work hands-on with prototype builds, first-article products, and testing equipment.
Capable of learning and incorporating new information, recalling processes, and maintaining focus with regular exposure to environmental distractions.
Physical Requirements
Must effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with or without reasonable accommodation (e.g., assistive devices or alternative formats).
