Job Summary:
The Materials Management Project Manager will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the supply chain operations for the hospital district, including procurement, inventory control, distribution, and logistics. This role ensures that all materials and equipment are managed efficiently to support high-quality patient care across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will be LEAN certified, with a preference for Six Sigma certification, to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence in a healthcare setting.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Certifications:
- LEAN certification required.
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in change management, supply chain, or logistics within a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Demonstrated success in implementing LEAN or Six Sigma process improvement initiatives in a multi-facility environment.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in supply chain management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Planning:
- Develop and execute strategic plans for the hospital district's materials management and supply chain operations.
- Implement LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes and enhance service delivery across all hospital and clinic locations.
- Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
- Oversee procurement, warehousing, and distribution of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet patient care needs while minimizing costs and reducing waste.
- Monitor supply chain performance to ensure timely and accurate delivery to all facilities.
- LEAN & Six Sigma Process Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain using LEAN principles to eliminate waste, improve flow, and enhance efficiency.
- Utilize Six Sigma tools to analyze data, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and implement measurable solutions to enhance quality and reduce costs.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all procurement and inventory processes comply with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital district policies.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain inventory accuracy, ensure patient safety, and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Vendor & Contract Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services at competitive prices.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, train, and mentor a diverse team of materials management professionals within the hospital district.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supply chain effectiveness.
- Prepare reports and present findings to hospital district leadership, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
