What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surveillance Technician position at Ocean Casino Resort?
The Surveillance Technician Installs, operates, maintains and repairs technical investigative/surveillance equipment (e.g. telephonic intercept, video camera, video and voice transmitting, vehicle tracking, night vision systems, etc.) to obtain criminal evidence in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
Position Responsibilities
- Provides technical assistance to other agencies in undercover video and audio surveillance equipment.
- Install, maintain or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electronic layouts and building plans.
- Examine systems to locate problems, such as loose connections or broken insulation.
- Consult with clients to assess risks and to determine security requirements
- Must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified/sensitive information.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, closed circuit television equipment required.
- Must possess excellent observational and communication skills.
- Experience in gaming surveillance technology and knowledge of cabling standards required.
- The ability to work in a confined setting, lift/push/pull up to 50lbs, stand, walk and bend throughout entire shift.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Researches, evaluates, makes recommendations and procures or provides expertise in the procurement of technical investigative equipment.
- Documents and maintains detailed records (e.g. service requests, location of equipment, time and parts used for repairs, etc.)
- Schedules and/or coordinates services (e.g. repairs, installations, removal of equipment, preventative maintenance, etc.).
- Responds to 24-hour/day, seven day/week emergency call-outs to perform and/or facilitate emergency equipment repairs anywhere technical investigative equipment is utilized.
- Tests and evaluates new equipment to ensure that the equipment meets the parameters state regulations.
- Catalogs and inventories equipment.
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and kitchen environments
- Exposure to stressful situations related to servicing clients in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours
- Must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified/sensitive information.
