Job Title : Accounting Manager Department : Accounting

Reports to : Controller / CFO

FLSA Status : Exempt Salary Range : $75,000 to $100,000 annually

OCEANAIR is currently seeking an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting of OCEANAIR Inc. and assisting in planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Accounting Department.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in business or accounting preferred.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a similar accounting position.
  • Prior forwarding, logistics or distribution operations a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • CargoWise knowledge is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical skills are required
  • High attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily accounts payable and receivables, monitor checks processed, and all accounting procedures.
  • Process and manage all functions for agent reconciliations and settlements.
  • Support and supervise CASS airline payment and reporting.
  • Manage accounting staff, including workflow and duties, approval of timecards, time off approvals and backups, and annual review process.
  • Develop, refine, and document processes and procedures for department staff activities.
  • Monitor and participate in the credit approval process for new accounts.
  • Manage availability of funds through banking, authorize all wire transfers.
  • Monitor all collection procedures closely for domestic & international.

    Work environment

  • Work is performed in an office environment where there is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Work requires close attention to tasks for work to be accurately completed. Intermitted breaks during the workday do not compromise the work. Work requires constant respond to changing circumstances and using new information to adjust approach and to quickly respond to new needs.
  • Sensory Essential Functions include close work, visual examination of paperwork, computer monitor and keyboard use, conversations, telephone and background noise.
  • Light work requiring exerting up to 25 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move throughout the premise.
