POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, OV Operations collaborates with both internal and external teams who are responsible for day to day insurance operations and ongoing customer experience. The incumbent will provide key support to ensure Objectives and Key Results (OKR), and related operations key performance indicators (KPI) are achieved.

This position requires a strong understanding of how IT systems are used in the insurance business. This role is responsible for creating, building, testing, and measuring many insurance business processes that rely on IT systems. Collaborating and maintaining positive relationships with our external partners will be the key to building efficient and cost-effective processes and procedures. Documentation of these processes and procedures will be key to sustainability and maintaining compliance with daily insurance operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supporting the operation to ensure that business operations meet or exceed customer and management expectations. “Customer” refers to all policyholders, agents, representatives, marketing organizations, and internal customers
• Working closely with the operations leadership team to monitor and manage third party administrator (TPA) and other key vendors’ service level agreements (SLA) as outlined in the agreement(s)
• Collaborate with Compliance, IT, and TPA to establish and document insurance business processes and procedures
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to find and implement improvements (both speed and quality) to existing insurance processes
• Work closely with channel specialists (Sales/Marketing) to implement marketing campaigns and support distribution management
• Create and maintain appropriate management reports to inform on progress toward business OKRs and KPIs
• Provide transparency to the executive team and organization through periodic updates, as required
• Participate in managing client relationships and key vendors
• Serve as Data Privacy Steward and provide support to the Chief Privacy Officer and Data Privacy Owner to ensure all processes and procedures are in place to protect privacy related data.
• Other duties as needed or required, which may include oversight of a small team of operations professionals.
  
  

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role
• At least 5 years overseeing or performing annuity business processes
• Experience with direct customer interaction
• Experience working in cross-functional teams including external partners
• Strong business acumen especially in the annuity business
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Clear understanding of business systems supported by IT
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve goals
• Ability to analyze complex information and reach reasonable conclusions
• Assess and manage risk effectively
• Think independently and strategically
  
  

SKILLS:

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  
  

LOCATION:

• This role will be based in either Birmingham, AL or Denver, CO.
• This role will be Hybrid and requires at least 3 days in the office weekly
• Base compensation* with the opportunity for incentive compensation including bonus compensation.
• Salary may vary based on work experience, market conditions, location, and qualifications/training.
