WAREHOUSE helper
Responsible for working day-to-day shipping and receiving operations at the warehouse. This includes implementation, planning, and system management activities related to stock levels, inventory accuracy, procurement, and control functions are processed correctly. Ensure direct support of the activities as guided by the Warehouse Lead.
Essential Job Functions
- Aid warehouse and storage workers.
- Raise concerns requiring attention of the Warehouse Lead or the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain the organization and layout of the warehouse in a manner that manages quick access to critical equipment inventory, fast and slow moving items, with logical sequence of material stored for ease of locating.
- Assist in maintaining the physical condition of the warehouse implementing new design layouts as instructed by the Warehouse Lead.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
- Receive and count stock items, and record data using the system.
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
- Perform cycle counts schedules to ensure 100% of all inventory is reconciled annually. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and share results with the Warehouse Lead to adjust errors.
- Notify Warehouse Lead of configuration issues of all material to be corrected per Material Requirements Planning (MRP) settings of SAP.
- Perform MRP runs as guided by Warehouse Lead and review system recommendations with the Warehouse Lead before release of requisitions.
- Configure storage locations and bins as necessary to maintain stocked material as guided by the Warehouse Lead.
- Understand and be proficient in Extend Warehouse Management (EWM) within SAP.
- Use the required scanners and follow all procedures for managing material in the warehouse. Issue material in a timely manner to work orders as the material leaves the warehouse.
- Restock and returned unused material from the field.
- Perform material kitting process that makes material available for schedule work of all departments.
- Understand how to update the material master for all material where the fields, names, class, and characteristics are not complete with standardized format and information.
- Perform inspection checks of material with Positive Material Identification (PMI) as necessary.
- Record quality inspection of material in a quality management notification. Attach Material Test Reports (MTRs) to the quality management notification.
- Notify appropriate personnel when receiving material if detailed inspections are required before performing the good receipt.
- Teach site personnel on how to complete a quality management notification for material inspected.
- Generate quality management notifications against suppliers for material Overages, Shortages, & Defects (OS&D).
- Generate refurbishment work orders for material returned to the warehouse. Perform follow-up communications with the vendors to ensure timely delivery of material as promised from the vendor.
- Maintain serialized equipment to material with batch identifications (NEW, REPAIRED, DEFECT) for refurbished material.
- Perform Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) actions to manage payments to vendors when needed as backup to the Warehouse Lead.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
- Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to the Warehouse Lead.
- Complete accurate removal of stock for deleted items through appropriate financial forms. Transmit the necessary forms to Accounting for proper disposition of deleted material with guidance from the Warehouse Lead.
- Participate in discussions with management regarding warehouse changes regarding process, layout, methodologies.
- Always present a professional image to clients and vendors and maintain a positive reputation of the company.
- Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
- Assists other departments and other administrative personnel as necessary.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Will support on-call and after-hours activities as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, and/or Training
- High School Diploma Required and
- 5 Years of experience supporting Warehouse operations.
- Certified Forklift Operator required.

- Ability to lift 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand for prolonged amounts of time required.

- Working in heavy industrial chemical plant environment.
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 4:30pm
- May work additional hours to meet deadlines as necessary.
Travel
- Less than 10% travel required.
