Responsibilities
- Assist respective responsibilities related to design and project management of new construction and renovation projects through the life cycle of a project.
- Advises on project specifications and regulations while collaborating with other technical staff, including architects and consultants.
- Aid in establishing priorities on allocation of all design and construction resources and evaluating project initiation.
- Assist with field activities to ensure all work is completed to plan and is executed within the established schedule and constraints
- Evaluate cost effective solutions to potential scheduling conflicts
- Review and ensure all institutional planning objectives and strategies are implemented into project plans.
- Help with assurance duties to ensure alignment with institutional standards.
- Review and contribute to budget development and contractor selection
- Understand and oversee needs of consultants, contractors, budgets and schedules of large scale projects.
- Oversee and adjust policies and procedures as needed for streamlining of project execution.
- Prepare and present written reports, presentations, briefings, and other technical documentation as it relates to project status.
- Manage field activities to ensure all work is completed to plan and is executed within the established schedule and constraints.
- Manage and monitor the pace and schedule of the project in conjunction with office based cost and schedule support.
- A minimum of two years of experience in Construction Management or construction industry
- Experience working on large-scale institutional building projects and sustainable design and infrastructure project management
- Knowledge of engineering as it relates to sustainability and resource efficiency.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, estimating and strategic planning.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills and deadline management skills
- Strong self-starter and with ability to work independently on-site while collaborating with other team members, as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field
