Position Summary:
Oconomowoc Lake Club is seeking a passionate, creative, and highly organized Banquet Chef to lead the culinary operations for private events at our Lake Club. From weddings and social celebrations to corporate meetings and holiday gatherings, the Banquet Chef will be responsible for crafting memorable dining experiences that elevate every event.
This is a year-round position that plays a vital role in maintaining the Lake Club’s reputation for exceptional food, presentation, and hospitality. During peak season, shifts will usually be Wednesday-Sunday but can vary depending on scheduled events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality menus for a wide range of private events (weddings, parties, business meetings, etc.)
- Collaborate with the Events Manager and Executive Chef to design seasonal and custom menus that align with client needs and dietary preferences.
- Oversee all banquet kitchen operations including food prep, cooking, presentation, and timely service.
- Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation across all events.
- Manage banquet kitchen inventory, ordering, and food cost control.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in accordance with health and sanitation regulations.
- Hire, train, and supervise banquet kitchen staff as needed for events.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, based on the event schedule.
- Contribute to an outstanding guest experience through attention to detail and culinary excellence.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3–5 years experience in a banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen setting.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of menu planning, event timelines, and banquet service operations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A passion for hospitality, creativity, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
