Full job description
Our Company is an asset-based international logistics company, air cargo & courier operator, and publications distributor, operating as a U.S. corporation since 1972.
We are currently seeking a poised and high energy level professional to join the Sales team in our Torrance Office as an Inside Sales Representative.
Position summary:
This position is responsible for conducting sales activity as:
- Inside sales (web inquiry, walk in customer and existing customers),
- Suggesting strategy to Management,
- Develop business and implementing inventory managements,
- Assist salespersons in pickup and delivery schedule, inventories, shipping preparations, rate proposal and pricing, and
- Performing any other tasks and responsibilities as requested by Management.
Primary Job Functions:
1) Manage inventory and shipping procedure
By ensuring incoming shipment and notify inventory update to customers; by maintaining inventory list and stored packages; by preparing shipping document, sending pre-alert, packaging shipment; by communicating with existing customer for pickup, delivery and shipping schedule; by working familiarity with Company daily business operations; by familiarity with Company trace and tracks system and accounting software; may assist customers by providing proof of delivery of client’s shipments; Package inspection; by assisting special pickup and delivery.
2) Increase Profits
by achieving sales targets of budgetary guidelines; by responding to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints; by visiting current and potential customers to increase sales; by conducting cold calls to new contacts; Products presentations and best practices in order to maximize profit; by assisting advertisement production and make insertion flyers.
3) Manages and Expands customer Accounts
by providing price quotes, proposals and pricing to existing customer; by following up on past-due account receivable to ensure that all collections are completed; by Identifying customer needs or problems in a timely manner; by reporting all problems to necessary parties.
4) Represents the Company
by attending trade shows and other Corporate event.
Secondary Job Functions:
1) Manage Time Resources
by using tools provided by the Company (phone, fax, e-mail, I-Link, WiLL) in order to maximize productivity and to accomplish tasks on time; by giving detailed instructions and pickup and delivery order to Operations.
2) Keep Management Informed
by participating in meetings; by reporting problems to Management verbally or in writing in order to avoid confusion and further problems; by entering sales activities into internal Web application.
3) Performs General Administrative Duties
by writing and distributing reports and other correspondence; by distributing mail and faxes when necessary; by accurately filing and maintaining documents of Customer’s Account information, TSA, AES; by making copies; by performing other administrative duties and needed; by searching whether customers are known shipper or unknown shipper and taking necessary actions in order to acquire as many customers as possible.
4) Maintains Professional and Technical Knowledge
by attaining job-related certification; by keeping up on industry trends; by applying that knowledge to the job.
Experience/Minimum Qualifications Needed:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, forms and instructions in English and Japanese.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English and Japanese.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to analyze and use various documents (contracts, purchase orders, etc.).
- Ability to use a computer and applications including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Education:
High School diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); and at least 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
