Location: Schaumburg, IL (currently hybrid with up to 50% remote)
Your mission in the finance team:
At TouchTunes, your work matters! We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Analyst to join our corporate tax team. This role is for a motivated individual who is seeking variety and broad tax exposure in a corporate tax setting encompassing both direct and indirect taxes.
You will be focused on various priority tax projects including reconciliation, reviewing tax liability, troubleshooting, analysis, and process improvement of the existing tax ERP system to help achieve more accurate financial reporting, and will play a pivotal role in supporting the annual audit, handling US and Canada tax provisions, 1099 and 1042 withholding reporting, FBAR reporting, and vendor onboarding. Additionally, you'll oversee business licenses, registered agent representation, and annual report filings. You'll assist in tax compliance, general ledger reconciliations, and audit defense.
Your day-to-day:
- Supports all tax filings and compliance for TouchTunes entities based in US, Canada, and the UK, such as US Federal and State income taxes, local sales and use taxes, franchise tax, VAT/GST, Canadian income and indirect tax, and property taxes.
- Manages and maintains accurate tax records and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Research tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify potential tax-saving opportunities.
- Complete property tax, business and occupation tax, business license renewal filings, and Secretary of State filings.
- Assist in responding to inquiries and correspondence with tax authorities, including tracking tax refunds and registered agent representation.
- Support process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax reporting.
- Supports reconciliation of tax general ledger accounts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tax guidance initiatives and transactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 year of previous tax analyst experience in a corporate tax setting, public accounting or a combination
- Graduate degree in Accounting or Tax, a plus but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, tax and accounting software (e.g., NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
