Job Summary:
The Demand Planner will play a key role in developing accurate forecast models. This role will integrate business intelligence and forecast data from multiple sources, including client insights/forecasts, sales and marketing meetings, and other relevant inputs.
As the integration point between manufacturing and supply chain, the Demand Planner will ensure on-time delivery to customers by aligning demand forecasts with operational capabilities. The role requires a team-oriented, analytical, and detail-focused individual with strong process and systems expertise.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Forecasting & Demand Planning:
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and business insights.
- Analyze sales trends, seasonality, and promotional impacts to improve forecast accuracy.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align forecasts with business needs.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Optimize inventory levels to balance supply and demand while minimizing costs.
- Monitor stock availability and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Work closely with procurement and production schedule teams to ensure adequate supply.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze key performance metrics such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and service levels.
- Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights and recommendations for demand planning improvements.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as a liaison between sales, operations, and finance to ensure alignment on demand planning strategies.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss forecast updates and market changes.
- Work with suppliers and distributors to improve forecasting processes.
- Adhere to all PPE and GMP requirements.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Excel), and familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong ability to analyze production processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with different teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Education and Experience:
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience with statistical modeling and forecasting techniques is a plus.
- 2-5 year planning experience as an Inventory Planner, S&OP forecasting, and demand planning.
- Post-secondary education relating to Business, Logistics or Commerce.
- APICS considered an asset.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience with ERP and/or planning tools.
