The role you will play
Participates in professional development and life long learning
Performs an expanded perioperative role as a first assistant to cardiovascular / cardiothoracic surgeons during surgical procedures in the Cardiothoracic operating room (CTOR)
Functions as a member of the cardiothoracic surgical team and contributes to the overall efficiency of the peri-operative department
Provides First Assistant support in complex cardiac cases and procedures including, but not limited to : cardiac bypass surgery, aortic-valve surgery, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transplants, assist devices. Additionally, responsible for harvesting vessel for bypass procedures (open and endovascular techniques)..
Monitors patients response and modifies plan of care accordingly
RNFA - Cardiac (open heart)
Shift : 4-10's, rotating day off
Call : Weekday 1 every 2 weeks, Weekend 1 every 8 weeks
