General SummaryThe Student Financial Aid Specialist is responsible for the processing and awarding of state and federal grants according to strict regulation.Specific Position Duties
- Verify FAFSA information and make corrections to student applications as needed.
- Award state and federal grants individually and in batch Act as a financial aid advisor.
- Review student account statements.
- Serve as a member of the financial aid appeals team.
- Assist with return of Title IV funds calculations.
- Award Stafford and PLUS Loans
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree or college coursework plus experience in personal accounting, high school/higher education or social program. Computer and business math skills. Organizational skills and strong work ethic. Ability to work under pressure, perform multi-tasks and meet deadlines, maintain a personable, tactful and pleasant demeanor at all times, even under stress. Basic knowledge of financial aid. Strong code of ethics and ability to adhere to guidelines.
