Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CEO.
Description: will use critical thinking and communication skills to apply accounting theory and knowledge in specific areas such as manufacturing cost accounting, payroll, general ledger, inventory control, and fixed assets. Oversight of team who carry out accounting/administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Admin Staff
- Responsible for full cycle accounting duties
- Ensure accuracy in general ledger
- Bank reconciliation
- Prepare reports for CEO
- Assure compliance with banking and governmental requirements
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Quarterly Review with Executive team
- Prepares and enters accruals
- Performs cost analysis for manufacturing
- Prepares financial statements
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department leaders
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Supervise and support accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Work with external auditors and tax consultants as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a controller or similar leadership role.
- Previous cost accounting experience required
- Experience with ADP payroll/HR software helpful
- Aptitude for business
- Detail oriented
- Must be comfortable meeting tight deadlines
- Experience with financial statements and tax returns
- Manufacturing process flow working knowledge
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and cost accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Acuamatica or similar ERP systems)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience in oilfield services or manufacturing is a plus
