Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our precision machine shop team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting parts, components, and assemblies to ensure they meet specified tolerances, customer requirements, and internal quality standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity and supporting continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, bore gauges, and CMM (if applicable).
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, & specifications to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Document non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, including inspection reports and certificates of compliance.
- Calibrate and maintain measuring and inspection equipment.
- Work closely with machinists, programmers, and production supervisors to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure products meet Internal standards.
- Support and participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and follow safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in machining or quality preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in quality inspection within a CNC or manual machine shop.
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and inspection procedures.
- Basic computer skills for entering data and generating reports (e.g., Microsoft Excel, ERP systems).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Stand or walk for extended periods.
- Use of hands and fingers to handle inspection tools and parts.
