Odyssey is seeking a COBOL Programmer to join a project in Austin, TX for a 6-month contract role. This position will be fully remote, however, there could be onsite meeting requirements in which you will be given 72 hours' notice, so you must be local to the Austin, TX area.
COBOL Developer/Programmer Analyst
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support various software development lifecycle (SDLC) stages, including client interactions, requirement analysis, documentation, coding, testing, and issue resolution.
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL, Natural, and JCL, ensuring they meet technical and accessibility standards.
- Troubleshoot software, data, hardware, and reporting issues, providing solutions for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Document existing workflows, enhance written specifications, and create test cases for issue resolution and system improvements.
- Develop logical and well-structured programs tailored to user needs, ensuring clarity and maintainability for future developers.
- Conduct application testing in compliance with established quality and security standards.
- Ensure that all development aligns with organizational objectives, documentation guidelines, and procedural best practices.
