The Logistics Shipping Specialist verifies and maintains records on outgoing shipments. Prepares items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material and arranging for the transportation of products.

The base pay range for this position is $16.50 to $17.50 per hour.

About The Job
The Logistics Shipping Specialist verifies and maintains records on outgoing shipments. Prepares items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material and arranging for the transportation of products.
In This Role, You Will
- Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bill of ladings or shipping orders to route materials.
- Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Contact carrier representatives to arrange or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Assist in packaging orders as needed
- All other duties and projects assigned

Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior shipping experience is preferred
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred
- Familiarity with Food Safety and Defense / HAACP is preferred
- Knowledge and ability to work with bar code scanner is preferred
- This is an in-office role based in Vandalia, IL
The base pay range for this position is $16.50 to $17.50 per hour.
