What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Specialist - Freight Forwarding position at OEC Group?
OEC Group is one of the largest freight forwarders in the US and we’re looking for a Training Specialist at our Cerritos office. We're constantly growing and we’re adding incredible people to our team all the time. The training specialist will support the training of new employees in our various departments including ocean import, traffic/trucking, customs brokerage, and various others. They will also be expected to write standard operating procedures for existing and emerging business units. If you have experience in the freight forwarding industry and strong communication skills, this could be the perfect fit for you.
Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
- Conduct training classes/modules for new hires as well as existing employees
- Write training documents and SOPs while keeping them updated
- Stay current on changes in the freight forwarding industry, including new rules/regulations, customs classifications, and general ocean freight industry changes
- Prepare and oversee examinations of new hires
- Coordinate with department managers to determine curriculum for training
- Travel expected <20% of the time
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 year Associate degree OR Equivalent Experience
- 1-3 years of experience working in an administrative or operations support role
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on PowerPoint on Word
- Freight forwarding industry experience is preferred
