Production Planner
We are looking for a Production Planner for our Plymouth, MI facility. In this role you will be responsible for the planning, execution and management of production/process orders including material requirements planning and ensuring conformance with product specifications. Continuously monitor, analyze, troubleshoot and improve processes to meet Company and Production Department Goals & Objectives.
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning and monitoring production activities to meet production targets in quality, quantity, and delivery date. It is expected that any foreseen failure to deliver on time be communicated to the appropriate individuals within the organization in a timely manner.
- Analysis of Sales Forecast to meet production and delivery schedules by planning, establishing targets and design plans ensure timely delivery of FG materials with considerations of manufacturing capabilities, material availability, existing workloads and labor requirements in each of the production areas
- Design, develop, and maintain plan for efficient packaging of FG products in alignment with Quality releases
- Design, develop, and maintain plan for efficient process and packaging of Tape & Paste products in alignment with Quality releases
- Essure effective and efficient usage of all fulfillment assets in alignment with confirmed delivery dates, best practices and inventory considerations
- Embrace and comply with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies related to production planning and execution
- Ensure material delivery dates meet planned forecast through the understanding of the manufacturing process as well as MRP parameters / planning strategies
- Requirement planning for raw materials in corporation with procurement
- Maintain replenishing pull and Kanban settings in SAP ERP System. Following the policies and planning strategies
- Communicate with Plant operational leadership to ensure production orders are followed correctly; respond to questions and concerns raised on the plant floor. Resolve deviations with the assistance of the Operations Team
- Maintain and ensure data integrity in SAP and other Company information systems
- Maintain optimal work-in-process inventory as well the required raw / starter stock material
- Participate in regular meetings with PLM’s, Material Management, Quality, Purchasing and Accounting to develop and maintain a current Material Requirements Plan through the Planning Horizon and SOIP (Sales, Operation & Inventory Planning) team management. Interaction w/Engineering team for the development of routings in SAP Production modules
- Provide assistance (as needed) to other departments who may require additional support for projects, product transferals/introductions, customer complaint investigations
- Continuous learning of technical and non-technical skills related to planning, workplace safety and operations supervision
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies
- Perform other duties as required.
Your Profile:
- A diploma or university degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Material Requirement Planning (MRP) – preferred Production Planning experience
- Excellent SAP knowledge preferred, MS-Office knowledge
- Strong knowledge of and experience in scheduling shop floor, capacity control, inventory control and batch production
- Excellent in both verbal and written communication, interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
- Detail oriented with good prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Good team player and flexible
- Strong analytical background
