JOB PURPOSE
The Human Resource/Payroll Systems Support Coordinator provides technical software support and training to school districts within the Western Regional Information Service Center Cooperative (WRISC). The Cooperative offers software implementation, training, and support for all aspects of Skyward SMS and Qmlativ Financial Management, Human Resources, and Student applications. This position primarily focuses on Human Resource and Payroll applications but could occasionally supports Fiscal applications as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide assistance and technical training to school districts on how to report and meet state/federal laws/requirements as they pertain to payroll, human resources and payroll., grant management and/or financial management.
Provide technical assistance to school district personnel regarding implementation of software, processes, and procedures for handling relevant data related to the financial, human resources, and payroll systems applications. These can include: Onboarding New Employees,Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Budgeting, Inventory, Application System, Time Clock, Custom Reports, Federal/State Reporting.
Advise and assist district staff in data analysis and problem resolution of financial and human resources and payroll data.
Advise and assist in data administration, data collection, data field selection, and use of programs to meet school and district needs.
Advise and assist with establishing timelines and scheduling data entry according to each district’s reporting preference.
Manage interactions with school district end users by utilizing the request tracking system; log issue updates and resolutions to support requests in the tracking system.
Develop, evaluate, revise, and conduct training for school district personnel in the use of the software system programs utilizing individual, small group, open lab, online, and workshop training formats.
Perform root cause analysis and develop guides and checklists for regular processes and typical issues.
Troubleshoot application software problems by evaluating the client’s description of the problem, asking pertinent questions, duplicating the situation, testing the application, gathering documentation, and acting as a liaison between the client and WSIPC staff (software provider).
Gather, analyze, and present information in a clear and concise manner to clients, peers, and community.
Collaborate with and mentor other team members in the use of application software, analysis techniques, training skill development, presentations, team processes and computer equipment.
Perform assigned tasks required to support school districts in migrating data to the Qmlativ platform: Coach in business process change requirements, validate data, complete implementation tasks, configure, train, provide post-migration support, and help districts gain benefits of new features and functionality.
Provide batch services, such as payroll, accounts payable, fiscal reports, and/or personnel reporting for contracted school districts, as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree. Appropriate experience may be substituted.
Three years’ experience in using human resource/payroll software.
Experience using or supporting use of Skyward software suite preferred.
Experience in:
- Human Resources: Contracts, Calendars, Educational Credits, State Reporting
- Payroll: Timesheets, Deductions/Benefits, Taxes, Accounts Payable, State Reporting
Experience using MS Office Suite products; advanced Excel, PowerPoint preferred.
Experience using SharePoint preferred.
Experience in developing and conducting group presentations.
Experience providing technical user training and support.
Experience with performing data analysis and developing custom reports..

Ability to apply knowledge of school business practices to the training of school district staff on usage and application of fiscal, personnel, and payroll software.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.

Sick Leave: Full-time and eligible part-time certificated and classified employees will earn sick leave at the rate of one day per month worked not to exceed twelve (12) days per fiscal year. A day of sick leave shall equal average daily scheduled hours. To earn sick leave, an employee must have at least 10 compensated days in the month. Sick leave is front-loaded.
Vacation Leave: 15 days earned per year, prorated based on start date.
Personal Leave: 8 hours or 1 day per year.
