This position is located in the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, within the Executive Office of the Mayor (EOM) of the District of Columbia with the DC Interagency Council on Homelessness (ICH). The ICH is a public-private council that serves as the Governing Board for the District of Columbia Continuum of Care (CoC) for homeless services. The ICH uses a collective impact framework to align the resources and activities of District government agencies, nonprofit providers, private sector representatives, and philanthropic partners with the goals outlined in Homeward DC 2.0, the strategic plan that guides the District's efforts to prevent and end homelessness.
Incumbent serves as a Program Support Specialist responsible for providing a wide range of programmatic and administrative support to the day-to-day program operating activities and services. Responsibilities range from average to complex in nature and are complicated by the requirement to determine the effect of problems encountered.
Incumbent provides operational and administrative support to include managing logistics and communications for upcoming Full Council, Committee, and Work or Advisory Group meetings, taking live notes during meetings to capture constituent concerns quickly, generating formal post-meeting notes that appropriately summarize constituent concerns, maintaining a meeting inventory that facilitates tracking of constituent concerns by topics and themes to facilitate follow-up and resolution by special assistants, maintaining governance and orientation documents as well as the ICH website to support stakeholders in navigating to the appropriate monthly forums and deliverables, supporting the special assistants responsible for member relations, plans and reports by copy editing correspondences and deliverables for consumption by Executive and Cabinet Leaders.
Qualifications & Education
Specialized Experience: This position requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level in the District of Columbia government. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position and has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Position Designation: This position has been designated as security-sensitive therefore the incumbent of this position will be subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC Personnel Regulations, Suitability, and as such, incumbents of this position shall be subject to criminal background checks, background investigations, and mandatory drug and alcohol testing, as applicable.
Residency Requirement: Applicants claiming “Residency Preference” will be required to maintain residency in the District of Columbia for a minimum of seven (7) years. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of employment.
