What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Project Management of Gene Therapies position at Office of Intramural Training & Education?
About the position
The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), led by Dr. Lauren Reoma, M.D., is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to further develop clinical project management infrastructure supporting gene therapy clinical trials performed at the NIH Clinical Center. The mission of the NINDS CTU is to create an environment for state-of-the-art clinical trials to promote integration into the greater translational development of treatments of neurological disease. The NINDS and its collaborators have a growing portfolio of early-phase collaborative gene therapy trials which have potential to transform patient health outcomes. The Fellow will be assigned to manage one or more adeno-associated viral vector (AAV) rare disease gene therapy trials and work directly with Joshua J. Todd, Ph.D., M.B.A. and the broader NINDS CTU team, to develop processes and tools to enhance the management and oversight of these high-risk and complex studies. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to and gain broad cross-functional experience in study design, protocol writing, clinical operations, regulatory affairs, data management, and pharmacovigilance. There will be opportunity to publish and present on clinical trial methodology and results and access to NIH’s comprehensive training and career development activities.
