Digital Media and Internship Coordinator
The Office of M-DCPS School Board Member Luisa Santos (District 9) is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven individual to manage the Board Member’s digital communications and the recruitment, development, and experience of student interns and fellows. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller, a confident mentor, and an excellent multitasker who thrives in a dynamic, public-facing environment, and who can effectively lead and manage teams of students and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, X, Facebook) to ensure consistent, timely messaging aligned with office priorities and community initiatives/events.
- Create and oversee the production of high-quality visual content, including graphics, videos, and digital assets.
- Schedule, publish, and monitor content highlighting office initiatives, policy updates, and events.
- Collaborate with schools, students, and community organizations to amplify advocacy efforts and engage diverse audiences following school visits and outreach events.
- Track and analyze digital engagement metrics to evaluate campaigns and implement strategies for improvement.
- Lead the planning and execution of the All Year Internship Program (AYIP), Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP), and the District 9 Office Fellowship.
- Oversee intern and fellow onboarding, project assignment, and execution across multiple student teams.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in social media management, digital content creation, or communications, preferably in public service, nonprofit, or education settings
- Demonstrated experience creating and managing engaging multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and digital assets
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media platforms and tools (e.g., Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, Hootsuite, CapCut, Buffer, Later, Meta Business Suite)
- Exceptional writing and visual storytelling skills, with a strong sense of branding, tone, and accessibility
- Detail-oriented with a creative eye for design and a commitment to producing high-quality, on-brand work
- Proven ability to lead and mentor high school or college interns in a supportive, inclusive learning environment
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Flexible and responsive to the dynamic needs of the role, including attending events outside of regular hours
Start Date: June 2, 2025, or as close to then as possible
Location: Offices in Homestead and Downtown Miami; events and meetings throughout Miami-Dade County; some remote work
Type of position: Part-Time, 20 hours a week
