Pursuant to the New Mexico District Attorney’s compensation plan: the Office is seeking applicants for an Information Technology Network Specialist in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
* Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing network systems, ensuring security, optimization, and compliance in a complex, multi-vendor environment. Key responsibilities include managing large-scale installations, proposing and implementing innovative solutions, resolving chronic issues through root cause analysis, and optimizing performance based on network architecture and design.
The candidate will lead strategic planning to align network systems with organizational goals, advise management on policies, and oversee contracts and vendor relationships. Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to influence decisions and lead cross-functional teams. As the final escalation point for network systems, this role ensures network reliability, security, and alignment with long-term organizational objectives.
* Supervision: Manage staff in the day-to-day operations for functional area(s) of responsibility. Responsible for recruiting, hiring and retaining staff, career coaching, personal development for direct reports, and accountable for the performance of employees by setting priorities. Ensure work completion within schedule and constraints. Accountable for multiple IT support teams; Lead technical project teams to ensure timely completion and satisfaction of reliability and performance requirements; Provide leadership and supervisory skills including conflict resolution; Interpret, implement, and ensure compliance with agency administrative policies and procedures.
* Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Management with a technology emphasis, Project Management, Computer Science, or IT related engineering or other directly related field and advanced technical certification such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Three (3) years directly related work experience. Four (4) years directly related work experience, and/or a combination of relevant experience and technical education, or network engineering certification will substitute for required education on a year for year basis.
* Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Management with a technology emphasis, Project Management, Computer Science, or IT related engineering or other directly related field and advanced technical certification such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Five (5) years directly related work experience. Four (4) years directly related work experience, and/or a combination of directly related work experience and technical education, or network engineering certification will substitute for preferred education on a year for year basis.
* Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Physical effort and the ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds. Some travel may be required. Consistent exposure to electrical devices.
