The Social Services Review Specialist will evaluate current and new out-of-state residential treatment providers for West Virginia children. This position will assist with serious incidents that occur in in-state and out-of-state residential treatment facilities as directed. The position provides on-site monitoring of in-state corrective action plans. This position assists with placement requests and information to aid in placement decisions of West Virginia children. Work includes developing and maintaining productive collaborative work relationships with providers, stakeholders, and BSS caseworkers to stabilize the placement of children. Interpret policy and state and federal legislation and make recommendations for enhancements in the development of provider agreements and child specific contracts.Preference may be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in child welfare and/or social services.Applicants must possess a valid WV driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Applicants also must have strong communication skills, both oral and written, and maintain detailed records and extensive documentation. Frequent travel may be required. Request, gather and evaluate licensing documentation and child abuse/neglect information for new and established out-of-state residential providers.Conduct on-site reviews to inspect and evaluate residential providers.Write reports of findings, citations, and recommendations for corrective action.Assist with serious incidents that occur in in-state and out-of-state residential treatment facilities. Serves as a primary liaison with out-of-state provider representatives to ensure compliance with contract specifications and resolution of problems and issues.Monitor and evaluate out-of-state provider complaints and allegations.May assist and/or provide input into the formulation, development, and/or revision of operating policies, procedures, and strategies for the organization, as appropriate.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
