, Paralegal - Charging Division

This position is located at the Central Booking Intake Facility at 300 East Madison Street, Baltimore, Maryland. Presently, the position is virtual and is subject to change. This position is an at-will position and is not subject to civil service rules.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Reviewing criminal histories, parole and probation records, and National Crime Information Center reports;
• Checking Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) Filing System and Criminal Justice Information System for open warrants and pending cases;
• Notifying appropriate parties of open warrants;
• Assessing violent repeat offender status;
• Entering data into appropriate databases;
• Assisting charging attorneys with preparing charging documents;
• Other duties as directed or delegated.
  
  

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma;
• An Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from an accredited college or university is preferred;
• Experience working with a case management system;
• Ability to use programs in the Microsoft Office Suite;
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Punctual and reliable;
• Must work well with a variety of individuals and able to resolve issues professionally;
• Comfortable and confident navigating and troubleshooting technology and digital tools essential for remote work, including proficiency in video conferencing platforms to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration in a virtual environment.
• Familiarity with MDEC a plus.
  
  

The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check before starting employment.

Salary: The salary for this position is $57,396 per year. Compensation also includes a competitive benefits package.
