Description
The RCM Services Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the RCM Department, providing support to the RCM team and RCM vendors. This role is responsible to ensure the RCM department meets targets for KPIs, retention, and time to revenue.
Essential Functions / Tasks / Duties / Responsibilities
- Oversee the RCM client services specialist team, patient account representatives, and Sutherland and ensures the RCM operations are running smoothly
- Manage the daily workload of the RCM administrator
- Work closely with the Sr. Director of RCM to improve operational efficiency by drafting or updating processes to increase quality and achieve the overall goals of the department.
- Work closely with the Sr. Director of RCM on departmental planning and budget, expanded service offerings and evolving team structure to keep up with department growth.
- Responsible for managing direct reports on a daily basis by conducting 1:1’s, reviewing productivity, and monitoring performance
- Provide coaching, support and guidance to the direct reports and ensure processes are correct and handled in a timely manner.
- Oversee team use of Salesforce ensuring RCM-related fields, cases, and activity logs are accurate and updated to resolution.
- Serve as a point of escalation for clients regarding complex issues
- Develop retention strategies with escalated or at-risk clients including action plans
- Actively participate in RCM huddles internally and with RCM vendors
- Maintain functional knowledge of OP enhancements and improvements
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of healthcare industry standards and the overall landscape of pediatric medicine
- Develop and maintain sustainable continuing education program for department including assessment and certification process and facilitate cross training between team members
- Maintain department KPI, metric, and productivity reporting
- Complete other assigned projects and tasks as assigned
Competencies:
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Ability to effectively manage team member performance with effective communication, professional development, conflict resolution, and promoting positive team culture
- Understand, support, enforce and comply with company and department policies, procedures and Standards of Business Ethics and Conduct
- Maintains proficiency and level of knowledge with all systems and applications required for task completion
- Maintain knowledge of Office Practicum EMR/PM, insurance carrier payment policies and practices
- Working knowledge and application of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding
- Active listening, interpersonal written and oral communication skills needed
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws necessary
- Professional Certifications and / or some combination of related experience
- CPC (a plus)
- 2 or 4 year College Degree a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of Medical Billing using EHR/PM system(s)
- Minimum of 5 years RCM/customer service experience supporting medical practices
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience
- Google Suite - Sheets, Docs, and Slides
- CPT and ICD10 knowledge
- Quiet setting for computer and phone with minimal distractions
- Minimal lifting requirements
- Minimal travel to conferences and remote offices
