Position Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, Cocoa, the Cost Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly financial closing, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes for the Finance team. They will support manufacturing locations in Bolingbrook, IL. The role involves coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail and analytical skills with emphasis on costing to be successful in this role. They must be able to prioritize and complete multiple projects on strict deadlines
Position Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain the plant's absorption-based production standards, including standard cost estimates, product set-up costs, activity rates, creation of work cells, overhead allocations, and other standard cost-related activities
- Prepare monthly financial closing in SAP and coordinate with the team on Manufacturing related areas.
- Oversee process order variance analysis (throughput, source of loss, downtime, etc.), data integrity, customer and product profitability, group-level profit and loss, spending, and Key Performance Indicator Dashboard
- Lead annual review of production standards with plants and executive leadership team to ensure cost management, optimization, full fixed and variable absorption, and product/customer margin
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team on forecasting and budgeting
- Direct internal reviews, including weekly, monthly, and annual reviews with key stakeholders
- Analyze working capital by providing perpetual inventory, monitoring cycle and/or physical inventories, and reporting variances to senior leadership
- Perform sales analysis and reconciliation, margin analysis, and customer pull rates
- Make cash flow projections for the business and give cash requirements to the central treasury team
- Support the Tax department on queries
- Oversee the Capex / FA/ Spare parts / Inventory cycle count and Invoice / PO / payment approval process
- Support the annual production plan budgeting process, flux report and update in templates
- Support the Finance Record to Report team and work on IT initiatives to enhance the current SAP system
- Prepare reporting– such as Inventory, Yield, Cost sheet, MATS, Cost control initiatives, Fair Value preparation, KPI for management review meeting.
- Internal / External Audit query handling.
- Review ad hoc analysis and perform other responsibilities as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- Three years of relevant finance experience is required.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, BI, Excel4Apps, and other integrated reporting solutions are required.
- Excellent teamwork, relationship building, and coordinative skills are required.
- Ability to work with a diverse team across various geographies is required.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation, and listening, are required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Strong attention to detail, strong sense of urgency, and ownership are required.
The pay for this role in the state of Illinois ranges from $77,000- $102,000 and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
