Position Summary
Reporting to the plant manager, the maintenance supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance department in the shelling plant.
The ideal candidate will manage maintenance activities, preventative maintenance (PM), and work orders, and resolve problems when they arise.
Position Responsibilities
- Manage and direct maintenance personnel, including workload assignments and
provide feedback on work. Assist in the maintenance activities of the shelling plant
and its grounds as well as the Buying Points.
- Establish and control a strong preventive maintenance program.
- Ensure that all maintenance personnel adhere to the Olam Peanut Shelling Good
Manufacturing Practices and Preventive Controls.
- Ensure that all maintenance employees adhere to the Olam Peanut Shelling Company
Personal Protective Equipment policy.
- Ensure that all maintenance activity and maintenance personnel adhere to Safe Food
manufacturing practices, Preventive Controls, and BRC guidelines for maintenance
employees.
- Ensure equipment is properly cleaned after performing maintenance tasks per
manufacturer’s instructions.
- Ensure that all machinery and equipment repairs meet or exceed all regulatory
guidelines established by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA), United
States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and
the British Retail Consortium (BRC).
- Inspects equipment and surrounding areas after any maintenance work is performed
to ensure the product is safe, equipment is clean, all maintenance tools, parts, etc. have
been removed completely from the area, and it is safe to resume operations. Provide
approval and sign-off before restarting operations.
- In conjunction with the Plant Manager and Operations Manager, established and
implement contractor control measures that ensure compliance with all above-mentioned regulatory agencies.
- Manage expenses to meet the annual operating plan as established by the Plant
Manager and the Operations Manager. Communicate any discrepancies or needed
adjustments.
- Manage the spare parts inventory.
- Maintain Plant Maintenance Management System with accurate work orders.
- Participate with leadership in the selection of new or replacement equipment.
- Ensure tools, chemicals, and equipment meet hygiene and allergen principles for Safe
Food manufacturing.
- Understand ofi Peanut Shelling safety policies, work safely, and report any safety
hazards or unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager or Safety Coordinator.
- Follow ofi Peanut Shelling Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Follow all ofi Peanut Shelling Company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs),
Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required, Technical College Certificate/Diploma is preferred
- Five (5) years of progressive experience in the Industrial Maintenance field is required. Previous Maintenance leadership experience is a plus.
- Intermediate to Advanced Mechanical Skills are required. Welding/ Fabrication Skills are highly desired.
- Basic Computer Skills (including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) are required.
- Prior experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI)/Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, is required. Must be able to communicate across multiple levels
- Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary) and on-call.
