Job Summary:
Rocky Top Catering is seeking a dedicated Inventory & Event Prep Associate to support our catering operations at UNC Chapel Hill. This role is responsible for managing inventory, preparing event materials, and ensuring smooth execution of catering services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management & Stock Control:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming food products, beverages, and catering supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems.
- Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to minimize food waste.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of perishable and non-perishable items.
Event Preparation & Logistics:
- Assist in gathering, packing, and organizing supplies for catering events.
- Load and unload catering equipment for event setups and breakdowns.
- Ensure all necessary materials (linens, utensils, food trays, etc.) are properly prepared.
- Work closely with event and kitchen teams to fulfill event requirements.
General Warehouse & Safety Duties:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient stockroom and storage areas.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: 1 years of experience in inventory, warehouse, catering, or event setup preferred.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move heavy stock items (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfortable working in cold storage or warehouse environments.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
